[Q&A] Jolanda Neff (Team Trek Factory Racing) & Milan Vader (KMC–Orbea)
- How do you value your stay in Hotel La Tea ?
@Jolanda: "Well, I've been at La Tea in 2018: a friend of mine told me to stay in this privileged hotel and I can confirm here it's a special stay, Michela is a polite owner, always available and very kind.
I decided to stay here in these days before Val di Sole, to grant me something special before this final main event of the season, and Michela confirmed my availability immediatly. Highly appreciated."
@Milan: "I visited La Tea in 2019, I enjoyed a special three weeks of training camp, I felt the great potencial to training in altitude and so I decided as well this year to come back before the Olympics.
About Michela, no doubts: always available of any issue and grant me the best during my stay."
Altitude training: a must for a pro rider, is it?
@Jolanda & Milan: "We are both agree that Altitude is essencial in the preparation of top athletes, training with less oxygen, let you gain something more. Probably for road bikers is more important than XC mountain bikers.
They have more altitude competition compere with us
(for example high mountain stage during Tour, Giro & La Vuelta).
About sleeping and training in altitude: more time you spend here, more you become confident about oxygen deficit, this is why usually we prefer long term here, to accustom our body to the high altitude of 2200m".
What's your favourite dish/food at La Tea, Livigno?
@Jolanda: "With no doubt: I love bresaola and Michela's roast beef".
@Milan: "I appreciate a lot the Pizza :) ".
What's your feeling for upcoming events? Could you compare the Olympic event with World Champs at Val di Sole?
@Jolanda: "After the happiness of Tokyo2020, I'm focus on another important event for me: World Champ in Valdisole.
Both races have something similar, even if of course Val di Sole circuit have longer climb than Tokyo."
@Milan: "I decided not to race the european and focus on Worlds: I wanna be at the top form for that main event.
After that race I'll have a busy race calendar for the all three weeks after".
